The law protects the relationship between a client and a psychotherapist, and information cannot be disclosed without written permission.
- Suspected child abuse or dependant adult or elder abuse, for which I am required by law to report this to the appropriate authorities immediately.
- If a client is threatening serious bodily harm to another person/s, I must notify the police and inform the intended victim.
- If a client intends to harm himself or herself, I will make every effort to enlist their cooperation in insuring their safety. If they do not cooperate, I will take further measures without their permission that are provided to me by law in order to ensure their safety.
Therapy works best when scheduled appointments are regularly kept. Therefore, when you establish an ongoing appointment with me, your time is reserved for you and cannot be used by anyone else. One week’s notice is required to cancel your session without charge. With less than one week’s notice, your appointment may be rescheduled within the same calendar week, subject to availability. Otherwise, you will be responsible for payment of the cancelled session. While I do not have a 24-hour cancellation policy, I will make every effort to accommodate your needs by offering a different appointment time during the same calendar week. This makes for the best quality of care.
